    At least they did not come across the wreckage of Beagle 2 ... yet. I guess we can still hope Beagle 2 will still communicate, but it looks less and less likely.

    The result is some terrific pictures of the Red Planet, showing a vast, rubble-strewn wasteland entirely devoid of atmosphere or intelligent life.
    Sorry.. and I don't mean to be pedantic, but it DOES have an atmosphere - admittedly very thin, and cold, and almost entirely CO2 but nonetheless an atmosphere....

    hmm, there is a chance, life doesnt just constitute humans/animals etc, a bacterium or very small life form is quite significant

    Just another thought - does PC World amount to intelligent life? The staff certainly don't give that impression off!
