The sooner the better.
I know you have a later date, but the sooner you apply the better chance you have because there is still loads of places on the courses. Towards the end they start to fill up and they are then more picky.

i used an a3 laser. fed the form through an a3 scanner, overlaid text over it with photoshop, removed the background, printed straight onto the form =)

then again i was applying to the hardest course in the hardest uni in the country...

i'm here now studying computer science, maths and physics, swopping to physics, maths and further physics / philosophy+history of science.

damn hard work but worth it (if only for the degree! )
