    So, Honeymoon in Florida...

Damnit, it's getting to the point where I really have to start planning stuff for my wedding next year.

One of the many many MANY things that has to be planned is the honeymoon. Given my wife to be is huge themepark fan, I figured the best place to go is Florida and split our time between Disney World and Universal Studios.

Question is, where's a good place to get deals? Flying out around 16th June 2008 and I figure ten nights is plenty, but what kind of deals can you get? Is it worth staying a Disney hotel for convience, if so, what's a good one free from thousands upon thousands of kids? If not, what do people suggest?

Stay in the room that has pop in the taps. All the sex you want and pop in the taps... will be like heaven. But real.

Unfortunately even the most resilient fiancee / wife tends to break down after the 4th or 5th time and no amount of KY replaces the real thing

Disney has a place called pleasure island, 18+ with hotels, bars, clubs, beaches, all types of nice adult stuff. =)

I'm getting married a couple of months after you, we're also going to Disneyland but in Hong Kong (I didn't even know there was one there!) which is crazy cheap comparitively. It's something like £14 for a weekend ticket in the Hong Kong one. Plus, everyone and their friend goes to Florida nowadays

The Hong Kong one has the added advantage of being practically deserted 9 days out of 10. Disney thought they'd get all the mainlanders coming across to visit. But they didn't. They're thinking of building one in Beijing now I think. Go communism!

Our Disney trips worked better when we stayed on I-Drive, in a hotel that offers free park shuttles. Don't count Busch Gardens out, if you've a park ticket, there's free buses from the Mercado on I-Drive.

    Re: So, Honeymoon in Florida...

TBH Orlando isn't the place for any Honeymoon - Go somewhere nice in Florida like St Augustine, Clearwater or Naples.
Wise old man won't you help me please? My house is a squash and a squeeze.

    Re: So, Honeymoon in Florida...

I suggest u go down to the keys. Stay there, its much quieter, can rent out a nice house, better food. Then travel up to orlando for an 2/3 night stay or something. 2 days, universal then disney. 3rd day blizzard beach is brilliant. IVe been disney in florida about 5 times. (went last year to use up my 3 day hooper pass left over from when i was 10 Captiva island and sanibel island use to be great down by the keys but i have a feeling that hurricane whiped them out

there are plenty of good places to stay in kissimmee (the town the parks are next to)

a few bits of advice though:
    1) you need a car. no really. it's hard enough just crossing the road to buy some foods if you're on foot. rent something nice.
    2) don't stay at disney. having done the orlando parks, i'd definitely rate the universal parks ahead of disney. there's no good reason not to at least *try* the disney parks (especially after the price drops), but universal has better things to offer, and consequently, if you want to stay at a park hotel, universal makes more sense
    3) budget well! you'll spend more than you expect to, especially with foods
    4) consider some of the "special" options. seaworld is a brilliant park, has a couple of rides if you're in the mood, and offers special things like swimming with dolphins, being dropped in the shark tank, and stuff like that. for a special event, it's worth a ponder
