Just think of all the stuff you are missing out on in the third year! Actually it is much better this year as at least everything focuses on the same thing.

OK - we need some perspective! - As 99.9% of all power consumed comes out as heat (yes it DOES) then if the psu is stone cold - it's not using any appreciable amount of power. Not even when there's a UK full of them - compared to getting in your cars and driving to an air-conditioned gym to use electric powered machines to work of more energy before driving home again....

If you changed from a 3GHz Pentium 4 or a Core 2 Due to a low power Core Duo and less flashy graphics card (remember that great big hot card in your PC that needs a 350W PSU) you could run about 100 phone chargers with the power you saved...

OK - I think you need some basic physics and electronic lessons.
99.9% as heat? What are you on about?

I think he means of the wasted energy, 99.9% is heat?
Still seems like a made-up number

Anyway, as far as your air-conditioned gyms go. Why don't people start green-gyms, I mean you're there for a workout aren't you? Surely someone with a little bit of time could figure out how to use the energy from the people working out to power the place? I expect this would go down particularly well with celebrities and the like.
