Well he cannot get a “proper” knighthood and be called Sir Bill because he’s not a UK citizen. He is getting an honorary knighthood, which allows him to put KBE after his name I believe.

As for Bill Gates deserving this award, I am not sure. I thought he gave quite a lot of money to charity, but I do not know what sort of a percentage it represents.

Want a power trip? This is a power trip!

Seriously though, you're not making many friends around here. I suggest you chill out a little.

The thread was pruned from a single point - no power trips, simply a responce to complaint by other board members.

Apoliges to those posting after the "prune", feel free to add your arguements back , just a) keep them roughly on topic and b) keep the anglo saxon down.

You only need one capital per sentence, and it was much about your language as anything else. You'll find you can say quite a lot on these boards providing your posts are sensibly composed, on-topic, and not littered with 4 letter words.

and thats coming from an Irish national...are we surprised by your destructive desires? I for one am. what have they done to upset you? did each one in turn knock on your door late at night and run away tittering? just lay off a little, its not big or clever...

well...mr gates kbe then eh? i guess we don't ever hear about the good stuff he does, only the 'bad' through microshaft stomping on its global competition. the funny thing is that in the MS offices they all use Macs! when asked why the reply: "they are more reliable and run out software much better then PCs"...

now now the Irish national jibe is unwarranted, maybe we have a fondness for fertiliser, diesel and semtex but i mean what would belfast be without its bombs, it would be like London without double deckers.

and as for wanting to blow up mr gates, the queen and tony blair well they represent the monarchy, rampant capitalism and imperialism, and im pretty certain i seen that lil bugger Blair kicking his footie against my wall.

anyways explosives can be big, however i agree they are rarely clever.

*it would seem some people have failed to pick upon the rather tongue in cheek references to explosives and therefore i would like to apologise to any person who has been offended (actually anyone who is offended by the idea of those 3 tossa's getting blown up deserves to be) .
