It's sad but unless people are taught this stuff or have a desire to find out then they will remain ignorant. A couple of months ago I was talking to my friends daughter and she mentioned Pluto. My first thought was of the dog so I just enquired what Pluto was expecting the dog answer and she came right back at me and said it was a planet then went into some ditty that enabled you to remember all the planets. She is 4 years old.
Now whether she understands the solar system i.e that planets go around the sun and that we live on the third rock from it I'm not sure cos the conversation rapidly went onto something else, but she is quite bright and I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult for her to grasp now if explained. After all she knows fairies are just pretend and for fun which is more than some people.

It is the traditional government. They created the concept of "sleep" you see in relality you don't need to sleep, the government use this time when we are all sleep to return to the other side of The Earth to carry out survellence and other eveil tasks. I stay awake every night trying to catch them, but they're clever. The church system was indeed set up by the government to find gullible people to carry out mindless tasks for them.

I think we sort of did that with the Mayflower. I suppose they could emigrate to the moon after all they did land there first although carrying all that lard into space might be quite a difficult challenge,

Ah but you're missing the Big Question there - is the moon flat too??
She is, of course, quite wrong. Pluto isn't a planet. It's a dwarf planet. It was demoted from full planetary status because, apparently, it's orbit is highly elliptical and crosses the orbital path of Neptune .... which apparently means it doesn't fit the current internationally agreed definition of "planet".
Honestly, you'd think that by 4 years old, she'd have worked out that a planet isn't a planet just because everybody's been saying it is for 75 years. What are edumacational standards coming to in the UK these days? Not knowing the difference between a planet and a large body of astronomical rock that looks just like like a planet. I dunno. Kidz 2day.
You'd probably find some clever buggers who'd mention Michelson-Morley, SR and GR and debate the meaning of 'going round'. Even from a strictly Newtonian perspective, the mass and orbits of the planets have an effect on the sun itself, it's not 'anchored' relative to all the others.
