Anyone ever receive a package from "Net Lynk" they didn't order?

Parcel Force delivery guy at my door this morning with a package for me, wasn't expecting anything so I was kind of confused as to what it might be.

Open it up and find a SpeedTouch 330 USB ADSL modem inside - no delivery note, no invoice, no note of any kind.

The address label on the package says "Net Lynk Limited" based in Birmingham so I assume it's the sender.

Visited www.netlynk.co.uk and sure enough, the address matches and they appear to be some kind of broadband solution provider.

I have not ordered any such beast, and never had any dealing with this company, yet they had my name and address spot-on.

If it was some kind of competition I'd won, I would have assumed they would tell me?
Anyone else had any dealings with this outfit before?

Going to check my bank statement for any dodgy purchases I might have made whilst drunk

Called them, "all our operators are currently busy".

Will try once more later, if I get the same then sod 'em, I'm keeping it

As it is, if they want it back then they can arrange a Saturday collection - but I think that would probably cost more than the modem heh.
Seems this thing is less than 50 quid delivered.

My boss got this huge delivery of unsolicted technical manuals at work last year, and enclosed was a letter saying "if you like these, then pay us £200, otherwise please send them back to us".
He just phoned them and said if they wanted them back, they had to come get them as he didn't ask for them in the first place

I'm going to take the same stance here

I guess BT OpenWorld screwed up, and someone else in my postcode has recently ordered an ADSL install, it just struck me as odd that they had my name down.

I know it's not my immediate neighbours as they have NTL broadband, while I've had ADSL from Eclipse for about 18 months now.

    Angry Net Lynk

I found a peculiar debit on my credit card marked Net Lynk. I had never heard of them. Finally, after digging around, I discovered that they are the email arm of tiscali DSL, a broadband supplies shop, dedicated to the tiscali setup. It is possible that people have received things ordered from tiscali as a Net Lynk item. I also received no paperwork. I think I've sorted it all out now, but we'll have to see. I had a few scary moments I'll admit. I had to go directly to tiscali to sort things out, Net Lynk were always closed or busy. Odd that!

Seeing as this has been brought up. I recieved a nice brand new boxed W810i in the post this morning. Orange contract upgrade. Turned out, it was sent from a company my friend works at to my house by mistake.

FWIW, Net Lynk are a perfectly reputable company providing distance selling solutions to a great number of companies. A bit like a courier, except they go further and hold stock and record sales on behalf of their customers .
