Okay, seeing as you chose to take a light-hearted request to comply with the rules, like everyone else does, seriously and make an issue of it, I'll take it seriously too.

You have not and will not be banned because of your sig. You've been nudged (note the smileys in my posts above) to change it. All it needs was an "oops - I'll change it" post. But so far, you haven't, yet you've posted about it several times. That looks like a refusal. So I'll remove it for you if you continue to fail to do so.

We have rules, and if everybody ignores the ones they don't want to obey, we'll have anarchy. Your sig is more than double the permitted physical size and some four times the permitted file size. It isn't like it's a pixel or three over, now is it?

Okay, perhaps you weren't aware of the rules. Well, you are now.

As for it not being an issue for "the past few months", you joined less than two months ago. And had a mod noticed it, you'd have been asked to remove or reduce it. Getting away with it for several weeks doesn't mean it's okay and that you can get away with it indefinitely.

You will not be banned because your sig is too large. But it IS too large and you've been asked to comply with the rules. If you don't do so yourself, it'll be removed for you. If you were to replace it after a Mod to removed it, then you'd be refusing to comply with the rules that we ourselves comply with and expect everybody else to comply with. If you refuse to obey rules, yes, you'd be banned.

Everybody else follows the rules. Why do you think you don't have to? Please either resize it to comply with the rules, or remove it completely. Thank you.

I'm with the small sig police brigade as well.

If you want a good idea of what the place would be like with "sig limits" disabled and ignored I suggest you check the Sci-fi TV forums. More than 2/3 of the lengths of the posts are all images of peoples favourite characters or shows and it's a right eyesore in all honesty and I've stopped visiting due to this.

Don't forget as well that some members will be using slower connections such as dial-up or even WAP in some cases, so the sig limits help keep the forums loading fast and nice

well, just copied a few sigs onto my desktop to use as a template size and such from various threads - noted atleast 12 other people with Sigs above the stated parameters with text inclusive which i was going to list but at the end of the day IM not here to tattle, especially when the number of posts from these people go into the thousands most of which HAVE mod responses in the threads. its all well and good putting quoted points, facts and your opinions but perhaps instead of trying to throw the rule book" at me - you should enforce your own rules and more widely, not just pipe up when another member puts his hand up and says "miss, miss, his sig is too big.
**so i will change the sig, and stay in the Gamers section of the site where less people require a rectal stick removed

I once had a sig deemed too big. I was just deleted and a PM was sent telling me it was too big. No light-hearted warnings or anything, I just accepted it and made a new, smaller one.
