If you think about replacing anyone, you really are not doing anyone a favour, and it does not bode well for a lasting relationship.

Of course, to really irritate her, you could start telling everyone bad things about her, but that would sink you down to her level, which is awful, but perfectly acceptable.

However, you forgot one key point:

The way she acted and is acting clearly shows one thing. You're better than her, more mature, sensible and wise.

I like the verb 'to pitty', I prefer feeling this about such people than any other feeling. I find it empowering and amusing

vengence is the highlight of the last twenty thousand years or so (since we stumbled into evolution by mistake) and more people have killed and been killed by it than anything else on this planet.

It provides excuses to go to war (important for empire building.. see most of the history of the world) it provides excuses to carry on wars (see 100 years war for examples... off the top of my head at least) and also helps most religions exist (without vengence none of them would be around at the moment, as most of them were actually created either as a result of someone's vengence and the matyrdom of target of said vengence, or as something similar related to vengence.)

It's socially acceptable because we're not going to stop a bad habit that's been going on since we hit evolution and started growing.

I do, however, apologise to any religous people that are offended by my summary of the origns of religion. I was refering to all religions, old pagan, current pagan, satanistic, cults and accepted religions in general, and therefore the finer points of each and every religion had to be evicted. If you so wish, I will edit this post to include examples from a few religions, but it will probably double the legnth of an already lengthy post.

bottom line is, are you regretting the split-upping or not... if you aren't really, then best not let someone trying to make you jealous cloud the issue. if she was genuinely bad news, then even if she wants to get back with you it may not be a good move (leopards, spots & all that... genital warts even...).
