So I'm responsible for their carbon output in 1989?
And if I didn't own them, would that carbon get sucked back into the ground?
Probably about 1 million tonnes. But human induced global warming is science fiction. The earth wouldn't be here today if it was so easy to change it's climate. What about comets/asteroids? (things which create so MUCH more damage).
In the more general sense - if people didn't buy cars then they wouldn't make them, thus reducing carbon output. Most of this eco bobbins doesn't really apply on a personal level anyway, so why should cars?

Will become much higher when I start drive
I don't think so really, i suspect that it's designed to try to get people to think about it on a more personal level and build that thinking into their daily lives. If enough of us do that, Tesco will start selling more of product X and the government will shift taxes from A to B... all that stuff.
Mine was just over 10, and i only flew once this year and walk to work

I'm amazed at how high peoples CFPs are compared to mine, especially with all the flights I added to it.
Isn't flying the root of all evil and i should burn in <a non-denominational bad place> for it? (well, according to environmentalists anyway)
I just don't get it, I really don't. This is the first one of these footprint calculators I've used, so perhaps I just got it wrong, but I don't think so.
