What's the "right" price? Right for who?
As Agent said, it's supply and demand. If nobody was buying at that that price, either the price would drop, or if costs are so high (and I doubt they are) that prices couldn't drop, the technology would die.
So, if they're at that price and they stay at that price, it's because people are paying it. They might prefer prices to be lower, but hey, if they're buying them at that price, they're obviously prepared to pay it. Me? I'm not prepared to pay it, which is why I don't buy Bluray movies .... or a Bluray player.
Blu Ray is quite expensive hence why I'm building up an HD-DVD collection at the moment, they sell for as little as £2.99 delivered now and will be shortly investing into a hybrid Bluray/HD-DVD drive for my PC.
blue ray has no competition what so ever, why would you lower the price? there are some movies around the £10~ mark but thats about it.
HD-DVD is dead end of, ok we all have the 360 drive and a load of dvds for it but new releases are ALL on blue ray and thats the ONLY option if you want High Definition.
