Well I picked up a pack with C&C Generals, Battlefield 1942 and MoH Allied Assault along with Company Of Heroes for £15 in Game.
Couldn't remember what else was on the list so I'll go back later in the week.
Ok, so my shopping list looks like this:
C&C Generals (+ Zero Hour?)
CoD4
UT 2k4, if I can find it
BF2 - maybe, I may give it a miss though
Think that's all, and shouldn't blow any budget I may have for the social meet
8 more days 'til I'm paid...
UT Anthology?

I've not played a huge amount of RTS myself, only KKND Krossfire on the PS1, and that was fairly easy (I tended to fail miserably vs other people though, offense > defense and all that)

Really? I don't recall seeing it much at the last LAN, only once that I remember (assuming that that was BF2 and not BF1942). Although I'm basing everything on the one I've been to, I guess it's not too representative of the norm?

Also BF2 is in the 2 for £15 Once the 1000000GB of patching has taken place its an epic lan game, nice big maps, multiple helicopters, planes, jeeps etc, and chaos then decends!
Hmm, another one to add: Team Fortress 2? Seems a rather popular game judging by GO forums.
Yes, TF2 was played a fair bit as well. In regards to CnC, the Deluxe pack contains Zero Hour and is in the 2 for £15 I believe. There's also the First Decade pack if there's something else you wanted in the 2 for £25.
Regarding UT anthology in the shops... we've been struggling to find it... but it does seem to be sold online ok in the 2 for £15.
We know we can't play every game that will be @ LAN due to funding issues, but if you do ahve a fave game then bring it along and there's bound to be someone else playing! (but... should I get BF2? - Did I get it? I can't remember)
I'm sticking to my faves of UT (GOTY or 2K4), C&C and CoD4 (as well as the randomness of flatout 2) as I can only cope with one game of each sort for now! (although should really give BF1942 a go seeing as a few of us have it... and I got IL2 so someone can teach me how to play that too!)
Just beware that you're missing the Zero Hour expansion for C&C from that lot...
