Aaron, not sure if its way too late now or if I'm just stating the obvious, but you can buy multirechargers from Dixons. They come with a little knob you twist to select voltage and you can add a variety of ends to them, one of which fits a sony minidisk player, another fits my nokia phone etc...

Costs £10 and comes in useful when you stand on the original and snap off the jack plug knoblet thing I also have anotherone powering the fans on my PC as I don't trust wiring them all up to the dodgy PSU I have in my case, so runs up to 12v quite nicely

Yeah, I ended up getting a universal charger from Argos. Cost £6 (1833% cheaper than Sony's asking price!).
