    i could do Leeds/York (used to live in York so i know my way around York quite well)
    and i could do Glasgow aswell

    It's not that bad price wise

    MK to London or Birmingham (probably Birmingham) then up to Newcastle, if you get tickets in advance its less than £60 with a railcard, probably £40 or less if you get it at the best day possible.

    Trouble is there are very few lans that are based around London, and then its a bugger for everyone else to get to.
