    Re: Good Morning

ah databases, is there anything more boring.

What I also found irritating is the way they tend to teach only basic concepts of run of the mill relational databases.

Also ignoring the 'future' things like nHibernate, or column databases are ignored. Not to mention the fact the data model is less and less relivant now adays.

Its at the point where i have a rich 'object' store, and a datawarehouse db. The warehouse DB is so big right now i can't have proper foriegn key relationships because it then takes over 20 seconds to do a DELETE.... I don't have the space to afford a deleted flag

    Morning all!

Just sitting down to my weetabix and cup of tea before I attack some prototype interfacing for our new research application. Its nice not to have to be battling with oracle for a couple of days!!

how is everyone this sunny, but fricking cold Tuesday?

Tired, hungry and not in a great mood.

couldn't sleep last night, it was sometime after 3 i eventually drifted off. So i slept in this mornign as was quite late for work.

Another day of sitting in the office doing precious little. There are a million and one things I would rather be doing right now.

    1. Eat something proper, it'll lift your mood (and I know what you're like on this one...)

    2. Come down here, there's plenty to do! haha

What is quite annoying is that I have 14 days of TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) and about 15 days of holidays still to take, yet they want me in for no apparent reason.

    grrrrr

Same... (although I am working... just waiting for things to compile)

We've gone from 16 to 7 this year... We have 2 developers and my workload is pretty much stretching into April at the moment. We're on a recruitment hold too.

    Re: Good Morning

Branston pickle and Ham (yes, in true food standards agency, greatest first - ham and cheese are only the bulking agents for pickle) roll and lots of fruit (no straw)

    Oh and fruit shortcake biscuits.
