We had goose last year, it was the first time I had eaten it. I found it very fatty, even worse than duck. I don't like fatty meats, so I don't think I'll be having it again. Might have just been a crap goose tho.

Depends if the goose is cooked properly or not, like it was mentioned in an earlier post. If done properly, the fat drains right out

You need to roast it on a trivet and get some boiling water over it first to distribute the fat - if in doubt ask Nick - he's the master on that kinda thing.

If you put your potatoes under the goose when you roast it you end up with the best roast tatties ever. Goose fat is awsome! Waitrose sell jars of it if you don't happen to be roasting a goose.

I'm not some goose fat pervert though, I will use Duck fat on me spuds if I have to.

A big goose leaves so much fat the spuds almost get deep fried ! I tend to drain some of it off and do them separately

And maybe some sobering-ment, or a new keyboard

We always have turkey and it is never dry! My mum cooks it upside down really slowly for hours and it is lovely!

I will agree though that any other time I have turkey it is not that great.

    Can't wait for lunch tomorrow!!

Aaaaaaaah, got a joint of lamb the size of Robert Mugabe slowly cooking in the oven. Now it's starting to feel like Christmas.

    Feelin' Christmassy yet, peeps?

Nope. Although I did put up some decorations last night (a set of USB christmas lights from Urban Outfitters).

Really looking forward to tomorrow though for reasons stated above.
