    Talking Equipment Exposure

Hello Hexus - This is going to come across as a very random thread/question - considering the temperatures we've had over the past few days/nights would electrical equipment short circuit with the frost/mist etc?

Basically my brother was flying one of our RC planes Monday, and an unexpected gust of wind firmly planted the plane in the upper most branches of a tree at least twice as tall as our house. Since it was all connected to the battery, just wondering if the electronics would still all work if we retrieved it after being out there. (receiver and lipo battery costs quite abit). Servos etc not bothered about, the ESC and brushless motor I think would be fine.

Still working on a plan to get it down.

It should all work providing you haven't tried to free it by over-revving and thrashing the plane. How did you retrieve it?

    Re: Equipment Exposure

We haven't yet, still working on a plan. Initially I was thinking to use a ladder to get up some of the way and prod it down with a pole, but the tree is so damn tall, and it's not worth breaking a neck over. Did try to give it power, but the prop was being stopped by branches, and when i went to check it today it was dead.

Next idea which i will try is a slingshot, drilled ball weights and 50lb fishing line to snag on the branches to try and shake it loose. Because there no other way i can throw something up there.
