TalkTalk is simply a gamble.
My auntie who lives in Eltham, London has a good stable connection, however my girlfriends parents who live in Vauxhall, London, have an unstable connection that usually goes down every Friday and wont be up again until Monday, and no matter how much you call their awful, unintelligent, incapable, script reading customer service nothing ever changes.
BT is more or less the same, most companies that have their customer service in India are a gamble, I personally refuse to do business with companies who base their customer service in other countries, even if it means I pay a little extra.
24 hours later and the connection is still live and stable, hoping it stays like this for the duration of the contract.
