Got some big speakers for sale

Recently my Great Uncle died and as i'm into tech i've been placed in charge of selling all his old hifi tech. So far i've been doing ok selling them on ebay etc but the speakers are causing me problems.
They're so big i have no idea where to sell them. There 115Kg and need 5 people to unbox.
Here's the website for the modern ones. http://www.tannoy.com/ResidentialDet...pid=138&sid=27 They look pretty much the same. Now i can't really take them into a shop as they're so big so i need to find some one who would be happy to buy them and take them away. Anyone know of any specalist places i could ring up to ask them to come round and have a look.

Interesting fact about them is he one them in a competition and in 1992 they were worth £13,000!

Are you talking about the old Corner speakers? If so they are very collectible, and Ebay would in fact be a good start with collection only, you can check both uk / us for pricing, and put them on the longest auction possible, with a reserve, if they are worth a lot you could also consider good ole old fashioned auction roooms.

But first i would do some research, ask around some Audio shops especially ones that do old / classic audio equipment. Also try auctioneers, and search the internet for all the background info you can find.

I had a pair recently that sold for a fair whack, i was told to help do a clearance of some old stuff from a business and the speakers were in the skip and the owner said my brother could take them if wanted, but he made a BIG mistake by repairing the covers as the person who bought them told us they are worth more in original condition.

Yup, very much worth the effort involved in advertising them to an audience that will know a bit about them. As Yosh says, try and get some more info on them, that'll help an awful lot.

As well as ebay, it might also be worth putting them on the b/s/t sections of the Av and hi-fi forums. Maybe even just ask this question on those sites as it may get a few folk interested. There are also a few second hand hi-fi sites about, it could be worth getting in touch with them just for a rough idea on prices.
