No. Sorry, but that's rubbish. I'd say that in general, women tend to be more intelligent than men. Of course, there's differences in all directions. Imo saying that is like saying a man won't indefinitely be interested in a women who a bit chubbier, or indeed a bit taller.

Anyhow JK Ferret is correct, women on the whole get better grades then men in terms of academics. I dont know why, maybe its because they have less distractions? However whether good academics equates to intelligence is another debate entirely.

IMO I would not mind if my wife was more 'intelligent' then me. A good personality is more important to me.

Whether or not women actually are more intelligent than men is irrelevant here, what is important is that the man believes he is more intelligent - rightly or wrongly. Since the beginning of time men who settled with more intelligent women have been more likely to find themselves in the genetic dead end of being cuckolded, i.e. spent their resources bringing up a child fathered by the hunkier caveman next door because their partner was clever enough to run rings round them, while their own genes suffered as a result. Assymmetry in sexual reproduction means females will always be under intense pressure to select absolutely the best biological father for her limited number of offspring, regardless of who is a good provider to them personally and so on. 'Infidelity' is therefore a highly successful reproductive strategy for females of many species and always has been, so males have needed to develop patterns of behaviour to counter it. Thus the property of 'not being too intelligent' became part of the male's definition of sexual fitness for females. Males who did not carry this genetic disposition towards dimmer females died out in pre-history (and would be no more successful in today's human environment).

@shadowmaster - I don't know whether you are married and are saying that you are in fact more intelligent than your wife, or whether you are speaking hypothetically (and prematurely). But qualities like 'good personality' (charismatic, good of sense of humour, someone who listens etc) are really measures of intelligence, as expressed in the ability to adopt patterns of behaviour that increase one's attractiveness in social interractions. Who wouldn't always say and do the right thing, if they always knew what it was? 'Good personality' also has gender-specific meanings - desirable personality traits are not the same for both sexes, many are innately masculine or feminine (even sense of humour, which to a woman means "he makes me laugh" and to a man means "she laughs at my jokes") - so to a large extent 'good personality' just means the ability to adopt gender roles laid down during our evolution.

Slight distinction though in that greater intelligence could be an ego/threat issue; not being indefinitely interested in a chubby bird is more about fussiness/concern with outer packaging.

That is the correct grammar as the plural refers to 'women' not multiple clitorii on a single 'woman' surely?

However, this arguement is negated by the fact the plural of clitoris is clitorises or clitorides not clitorii
