    Tamils protesting in Parliament Square

....they've been there all week. They made it into the papers on Thursday morning, but everyone seems to have forgotten about them since.

They've made a massive nuisance of themselves since. My buses ended up getting delayed all weekend. I should have had a really easy job over the Easter weekend- but I was working non-stop to try and provide some kind of a service with the big delays they caused.

And good luck to them. I only wish British people had anything like their determination.

Re: Tamils protesting in Parliament Square

But what are they hoping to achieve? The down grading of the Tamils as a banned organisation in the UK?

    Or actual intervention?

They have to be mad to even dream of the second, as a nation we don't have the military resources available! As for the first, well again the last thing our current government can do is seam soft on terror whilst Brown's time is rapidly running out.

Mr Sivakumaravel is one of two young Tamil men who have vowed to starve themselves to death outside the Houses of Parliament unless Britain forces the Sri Lankan government to call an immediate ceasefire in its war with Tamil Tiger rebels.
So intervention of sorts, but diplomatic rather than miltary I guess.

Re: Tamils protesting in Parliament Square

Ok, so let me get this straight, there's a protest group supporting a "banned" organisation, screwing up traffic in london.

Why on earth aren't the police out there getting rid of them! I mean, seriously, beat the crap out of them instead of law abiding UK citiziens for a change!

The Tamil tigers made thier name killing civilians in suicide bomb attacks, i would hardly say to them good luck.
