Leaking flat.

My sister's upstairs neighbour has a leaking flat, apparently someone has left their bath or something running and the water is coming in all over their flat.
As its after 5 the letting agency are nowhere to be seen, so we tried to police. They say that 'they aren't trained' to deal with this stuff, but if we get a plumber and he can't gain access then they will break down the door and let the plumber pull out the plug. For all we and they know someone has collapsed up there and is in need of medical attention.




Anyone else ever face something like this?

Yup, basically do as the police suggest, get a plumber there ASAP (or someone who can pretend to be a plumber) and get them there to smash the door down and oversee entry.

All nice and legal as long as the police are there.

if not phone back and say so, then after they kick the door in you can tell them you were wrong but better to be on the safe side

Its my sister, and idgi.
They turned off the power, took anything of value and went to my currently vacant flat nearby (i'm at parents place atm).
Hopefully it'll be sorted out soon.

Go to the Labour Government website, see what "new (aka....totally rubbish but the masses fall for it every time) initiative" they are claiming in the fight against crime, and just report that is what is happening in the flat above

(ie) "there are millions of immigrants in the flat upstairs officer and I think they may be illegal"

or "Are class A drugs allowed to be stored in a residential flat"


.......but whatever you do don't mention that you think your neighbour may be fiddling expenses
