Righty oh, is anyone around here at, or is planning to go to SHeffiled Hallam Uni this year.

Was just wondering what course you were doing and your chosen accomadation etc.

Also people that are already there, what sorta date dyu recomend going down to get the most out of the freshers experiance?

it was my insurance, was gonna do software engineering but i REALLY didnt want to go there, their comp center is so rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe compared to staffords (where i'm goin)

that said sheffield is a cool place (i used to live there) so good luck to you

Yeah, Staffords computer facilities were very impressive... Probably better than Keele (where I'm going), but I think Keele has a better academic reputation so my dad wants me to go there, otherwise I get no support. lol.

SHU is okay, graduated from there last year

I pity you if you're stuck at Newfield Green halls (flats) they're in the middle of nowhere and it's one of the dodgiest council estates I've seen, well, apart from the infamous area up the hill to the side of the flats.. But you can get Blueyonder Cable..

All the other halls are good though

Hallam's computer system is fine, adsetts has *loads* of pc's and there's a couple of nice CAD and network labs in the Sheaf (Engineering) Building.
