Re: Strangest question at Airport baggage drop

I was bored at the airport and reading the back of my e-ticket, which informed me that I was not allowed to carry spare li-ion batteries for any electronic equipment (didn't specify carry-on or checked baggage) - but for the first time going through security, I had the piss taken out of me for the variety of memory sticks, cd's, cables etc

biggest frustration is not being able to carry tools - if i could take a torx driver and 2 philips head screwdrivers in my baggage, i wouldn't have to check a bag for overnight european trips! ... well generally, i inform the customer that they'll need to provide them onsite or else I'll be delayed

Re: Strangest question at Airport baggage drop

In Frankfurt Airport on Tuesday i was asked if my laptop had any 'special' add-ons which i may not know about.

I am still wrestling with this question as i have NO IDEA what they meant.....i just said no.

They asked you if you had any addons which you didn't know about.

how would you know about them exactly?

    My point entirely.
Problem is, if i start questioning the German security, i can see me being there for a while.

I'm a broad minded fella, but the 'rubber glove' treatment goes to far

Re: Strangest question at Airport baggage drop

You think laptops are bad? You should try heading through security with a flying headset, aviation GPS and radio, aircraft technical manuals, and satellite emergency location transmitter

Makes them stop and take a good hard look, every time...

A number of times I have had my belongings thoroughly checked when heading through security to go and pilot my own plane at some arse-end of nowhere airport. What am I going to do, hijack myself with my own nail clippers? Interestingly, despite often having a survival knife in my flight bag, they never see this as an issue and I am always allowed through (so far...)
