Isn't that what mums are trained to do though???
I'm almost 27 and my mum worries about me...
Be nice everyone... it's not so easy for some people to come and meet new faces!
Only if you want to be on the A&E run when my heart hits 240bpm.... yeah by all means...
pretty much.. yes.
sister cant wait till i go -dad just wants me to get out the house and do something for once.Originally Posted by my sister
mum is just worried about me, because its only the second time i've been anywhere 'on my own' as it were, the other was part of the princess trust.
its not fun having no confidence and a complete lack of motivation into doing things (stems from that car crash i mentioned ages ago) i just need a little encouragement into doing things now and again. it used to be alot, now its alot less.
its just taking a while to get sorted. HEXUS and its many strange hexites are helping in that regard. its why i occasionally post something completely stupid and why my welcome mesages are strange.
anyway..........
i've started downloading the patches for the games and also streamlining my PC. not going to bother reinstalling vista, it works now, just a little slow on bootup - 3 minutes.

get moving!!
has anyone worked out whos sat next to who yet, are we in a massive line that stretches further than the eye can see, or opposite each other, round an end or what?
also. are the cases going ontop or underneath the tables?
i need to re-jig some things around in my case depending on where it goes - soundcard, front panel audio, and a few fans incase you're wondering why.
Don't know yet. In the past it has been in a line, but it's been suggested/requested that we sit opposite each other; otherwise one end will never see (but no doubt hear!) the other. Around the end might be good as well, given the large number of us (hopefully 13, maybe 14; hint, hint Matty!).
As for the position of the rig, will depend how big it is really. Some put under, some on top. The legs of the tables are inset a bit, so having it on the floor and then trying sit at the table can be a bit tight. You can maybe put it behind your monitor (think that's waht Lee did). Haven't seen a table collapse due to the weight of 2 rigs on it...yet.
generally speaking iv found that a standard width tower will fit behind your monitor on the desk, with a good amount of distance between the monitor and your face - meaning you arent going to kick it and it doesn't get in the way of drink-space

theres always a first time, mines 18kg and counting . im adding a few reinforcing bars in a few weeks, the new top fans have weakened the case a bit, it flexes the motherboard too much for my liking.
if theres a choice of where to sit, can i have the end, with no-one on my right side please.
not bothered whos to my left, just aslong as they dont mind me asking questions every now and again about whats going on.
missed a bit in the sentence
it's supposed to say:
it flexes the motherboard too much for my liking when i move the case around. theres no telling what will happen to it after a car journey, stuff might have popped out or snapped.
your hs&f flexes the mobo too much?

it's not that bit. theres 2 big holes in the top of the case where the new fans go, theres less structural strength in the case, it twists and bends a bit too much.
the hs&f is attached by cable ties, it will never come off
I havent worked out an exact seating plan yet no. I am waiting for a finalised number of people before I even attempt to.
But yes the general plan (hopefully) is to have us lot opposite each other, so if there were 12 of us, have a line of 6, and the other six on the tables opposite
Like Gerrard said its all up to you really, where your rig will fit, where its going to be most comfortable for you
Although I am not sure those tables could even take the weight of my stacker, let alone the person next to me's pc
Do you not remember trying to lift my stacker?!
from a sitting position, with booze it was back breaking.. no way it was heavier than the 30 odd kg trinitron i was lugging about with a knackered hand yesterday though and monitors really do need to go on desks
edit: the hodge has not written himself off from attending
