FAO Mods, lost my thread

One of my threads has removed. It was a link to British Gas offering free electronic gadgets(electricity meter & auto standby off plug) to people who were on benefits or were 70+.

I may have told people they could claim on behalf of their grandparents & if their grandparents weren't going to use it, for them to use it themselves (saves people money, saves the environment). Im guessing the MOD didn't agree with this & removed the thread?

edit; For the record im not protesting their action/complaining, just want to make sure i know what i did wrong, as i thought it was a very good deal & well worth sharing with Hexus.

It's working fine for me, and the only reason I can think of that I'd see it and you wouldn't is if it were in a restricted area you don't have access to. Problem is, it isn't. It's in current bargains.

Is it still giving access problems?

Yep, i still see the invalid link notification. Worked fine last night for me and nothings changed since then.

I see what you mean about the "Grandparent" thing. That might be an issue and someone might have flagged it for consideration because of that. I've been posting and not checked the Mod room, and I can't stop now as I've got to go out. If nobody else works out what's going on, I'll have a look later.

Ok then, ill await your judgement. I dont see it being too much of a problem though, its a net benefit for everyone if you use it (less power waste helps you, British Energy/supplier, environment etc). I found the deal on hotukdeals where it was heavily used by people and i can imagine it being real help to a lot of Hexus users, esp with wireless mouse chargers, multiple screens, printers, speakers (not to mention TVs & their accessories etc which all have standby lights).


If it is deemed unacceptable, can i post it making it clear its for those on benefits & for anyone who has grandparents who use a computer...like me ordering one for my Grandma?

It's now been sorted.

I think that provided it's aimed at genuinely eligible people, it's a great find and very useful. But some of the comments were a bit close to the mark.

Seeing as it's sorted, I'll close this thread now.
