2 things i hate the most - xenophobia and the french
"chuffing"
My top 3 would be
Family Guy
Futurama
The Simpsons
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
I was once like many people on this thread, i thought The Simpsons was the best cartoon ever.
That all changed when I bought Family Guy season 3 on DVD. Family Guy really is the funniest cartoon, ever.
Simpsons a few years ago - Family guy is definately the best out of them lot, though post season 3 South Park is brilliant too
Tho I do prefer anime (not the pokemon type stuff tho). . .
love those anime/manga style cartoons. mind you - what the heck are they wasting time with pokemon for?
oh well, has anyone seen Cowboy Bebop? they made a series (three of them) and a movie from the series...pretty awesome stuff, try and snag a copy of the series before watching the movie though - makes more sense that way. also the studio ghigli films are pretty cool too, like princess mononoke, spirited away and castle in the sky.
there was one i loved as a teeny person (about 6yrs old) called warriors of the wind but the correct name is 'Nausicaa of the valley of wind'. saddly the only version over here in uk has been butchered and minus at least 20mins of, according to the writers, crucial plot. currently trying to find dvd version with english language - thats the beauty of anime, although its made for japanese market anyone can appreciate them cause any language can be applied as a voice over. don't think many/any western animators create such atmosphere in their work, the attention to detail in anime is fantastic, what does it for me.
...oh and having seen a couple of those animatrix short films i thought those were pretty good too.

There's anime out there for everyone - thats why you get the pokemon type stuff (I grew up with Dragonball Z, but dont watch it anymore) - Im not too hot on the cutsey fartsey stuff. I suppose it's a good way to ease people into it though.
Ive watched the Cowboy Bebop movie - I can watch the series too, but to be honest, it didnt do all that much for me (so Ive not bothered), it's good, but it's probably something I wouldnt watch again
Another reason why Anime is great is because, at times, it's just too far out there to recreate the same stories/feelings etc. in a feature movie. Alot of it is what you make of it yourself, but the story development in either manga/ova/series/movie always keeps me interested (unless it's crap) and I usually end up caring for what happens to the characters, the personalities come out well in anime. Most of the time in non-animated movies I dont really care about any of the characters, which is probably a bit sad, but hey.
thats fair enough. i just enjoy the fact that you can have a character do more in anime than in film, well that is apart from someone like jackie chan of course...

Long live jackie chan, turning 50. It's a shame, he cant do the stuff he used to do, once he is gone, I dont think there will be anyone like him again.Originally Posted by shiato storm
