Daily Mail - Good News: Idiotic Readers (well, most of them)
So, the Daily Mail has been known to attract the utter idiots of the Unted Kingdom to their website in the masses, but it's a shame because they are one of a few news websites that produce so many internet article on a daily basis.
But the comments below the articles baffle me, and to think that people actually think that their opinions are "right" and what's worse, the MAJORITY of the craziest comments you have ever read are positive (the little green arrow thing like YouTube), but not 5 or 6, but 500 or 600 clicks!
Take one article I have just been reading.

So, naked Brooke Sheilds at 10, big deal?, no not really, nothing bad IMO, what you going to do about Nudiest Beaches with families of all ages then? Make them all illegal?
But the comments are actually ROFL status, and supported in the hundreds, one of them.

Oh.My.God. And we wonder why adult men want to get with CHILDREN!!!! Whether its in a night club, on the internet or an art gallery. Stop giving the perverted creeps images, it's brainwashing them to think it's okay.
So one women, in Devon, is stating that every adult man in the UK will become or is already a peadophile because they see a naked girl, LOL. Have these people not been to beaches or waterparks before? They are two places that you will see children of all ages in the nude.
And it's the whole website filled with crap like that, and one of the comments states that this is the problem of the, wait for it...
Labour Party.
Haha.

What exactly are underage girls doing in a nightclub eh?
If a paedo thinks he's speaking to a 10 year old girl on the net, its probably a 43 year old man

or an art gallery.
Erm... ITS ART! There has been many more f'd up forms of art, this isn't much new. I did last night however see something on B3ta links about some artist who's building a 'Rape Tunnel'. Anyone who goes through the tunnel, he says he'll rape them. Now THAT is pretty messed up

People who want to so these things will find ways of doing them. Same as piracy. If someone wants something, nothing's going to stop them.

Because of course a single artistic image, displayed in a public place, is a far more lucrative prospect for paedophiles than the scores of the stuff I imagine they can already get their hands on...
Although it seems that the commenters have missed the potential benefits of such an exhibition; if all sex offenders will make a beeline for the room containing the picture, then they will be trapped in a confined space, where amassed Daily Mail readers can exact justice!

That said, I would just like to raise the point of the following:

And, while I do not dispute the claims of that one woman from Devon, I do wish to thank Brook Shields for helping me to not become a peadophile after looking at her half-naked 14 year old body, by being fugly.

EVERYONE on the internet is a 43-year-old man. It's scientific fact!

Back on topic, I am fairly liberal on those things, and not particularly offended by it. But there has to be a line somewhere even in edgy arts, and while I am not sure where mine lies, I do find it entirely understandable that this is taking too far for some.
A nudist beach is a poor comparison, I doubt children in nudist beach would wear make up to make them look like (more) like a woman (well, at least shoulder up), 'oiled', and making direct eye contact with the viewer.
Re: Daily Mail - Good News: Idiotic Readers (well, most of them)
that doesn't answer the question

Don't get me wrong, child molestation is one of the absolute worst and most despicable crimes, but idiots such as those on the Daily Mail site just undermine the credibility of more intelligent and better-reasoned arguments for tough measures against paedophiles.

I am this close to sigging that. Unfortunately I'm older than that !
Re: Daily Mail - Good News: Idiotic Readers (well, most of them)
I think people need to remember *why* child pornography is wrong and bad. It's because to make it requires exploiting a child who doesn't know any better and doesn't have the power to defend themselves. The image of Brook Shields *may* fall under that catagory, depending on how much protection she got from her parents and her agent at the time.

More likely a policeman - or a potential blackmailer...
