Congrats - that seems like a pretty good outcome. I gotta ask though - was this like an industrial rice cooker cos £50 is seriously pricey just to ship something to France.

It's a fancy Japanese one It was sent by Parcel Force (as requested by the seller). I forgot the weight of the box (not that heavy - maybe 6.5kg?), but I was also surprised by the cost. So much that I went home and emailed the seller to confirm that I am going to be refunded on that.

Thankfully I've only had to deal with honest sellers so far (*). Previously I've received a damaged item and the seller sent me a replacement and asked me to keep the damaged (but patchable) item. It's those positive experiences that has kept me going back to Ebay all those years.

(*) Well, there is one item I've never received. It was a low value USB cable I was too busy to chase up. Still, the seller left me a positive back when most sellers would withhold their feedback until they receive a positive as leverage, so I assume that it's an honest mistake.

That said, this is one of my highest value transaction, if not the highest value transaction full stop so I was well nervous.

Wow.. that's expensive for a 6 kilo parcel. I was imagining an industrial rice cooker the size of a washing machine or something similar. On a serious note, what's your verdict on the rice cooker? I've thought about buying one (a budget priced one that is, none of this fancy Japanese business ) but I've always wondered if they're worth it.
