    Driving Theory Test

    Yo

Managed to fail my driving theory test for the second time yesterday. Not very happy. I can do the multiple choice part OK (got 33 the 1st time and 35 the 2nd) but i can't do the Hazard Perception (got 36 first time and 39 second time). Anyone else have any trouble with it?

Managed to do it first time a couple of weeks ago, got 35/57 - though I think the hazard perception one of the most dumb and stupid ideas ever - I tried it on a couple of friends who've been driving for 8 and 10 years respectively, and never had an accident - they both failed.

There is a software package available that might help: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...441301-5870202

It's almost identical to the real test - well it uses triangles instead of flags - helped me, cause it has a mode shows you where they expect you to click. Was surprised at some of the things it doesn't think you have to click for...
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

For the hazard perception, you have to remember to click plenty (although obviously not just click clik click click or it'll accuse you of cheating). Also, they tell you you don't need to move the mouse to point at hazards, just click, I'd recommend pointing at them anyway (it's all psychological), that way you know you're clicking the hazards.

Basically, just click. See someone that looks like they're going to walk into the road? click. Car comes on to your side of the road? click. Then the obvious ones like cars pulling out, kids in the road, etc, etc. Everything that looks like a hazard to YOU, just click. When I was doing the mock tests on PC I was actually clicking on the hazards with the mouse as I saw them, I was getting almost full marks. When I did the Theory and the intro tells you there's no need to move the mouse and click on hazards it kind of threw me a little and I only ended up getting 51/75, should have stuck to my own methods.

I've failed my theory 4 times, and i'm proud of it! Reason being because i never actually wanted to do that test, every single time i turned up 15 minutes late and every single time i had only just woken up.

Seems like luck that exam. I've got to do it this summer though

Mine was 2 days after!! Failed it due to not knowing what the hell to expect, but passed the next time.

It is a total waste of time

I have been driving for 5 1/2 years and last year my girlfriend brought home the practice cdrom of the hazard perception test. I tried it out. I failed, every time. It accused me of cheating. I clicked every time I saw a hazard, but it didn't want EVERY hazard, it wanted 'DEVELOPING HAZARDS', but tbh I think their definition of a developing hazard is rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe!

The most pointless part of the driving test! And I think the driving test is out dated and pointless in itself. It doesn't test whether you can drive or not, it tests if you can pass the 'driving test', which is a set of rules without any purpose. Like not crossing you hands! How ridiculous is that?

I passed first time 35/35 55/75 using the training cds. Watch out though, as the videos wouldnt work on my pc (geforce 2 at the time) and I would get zero in every test - I was like wtf the more I practised the worse I got. Then I installed it on my dads pc and it was fine, passed first time (he failed though by 2 marks).

As others say, don't worry about getting caught cheating - you won't. Just click click click (obviously no double clicks or the like).

i studied for a month before hand all the way up to the test date , everyone else i new would go on about how easy it was and well , they were right , it is extremely easy, but theres nothing wrong with being well prepared

i got 33 and 49 so passed first time , was in and out the building in about 20 minutes max. unfortunatly im not having to much luck with the practical side of things though. i've failed 3 times so far and got my 4th in may , but got a car last week so have been practising constantly in it and will hopefully pass eventually.

oh yeah i just remembered , a guy in my year at my old school (who's a complete rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish) failed on his 9th attempt at the theory test so gave up and says driving isnt worth the hascel ... lol

Unlucky dood. I only did mine a few weeks ago, I honestly thought I was going to fail. But in the end I got 31/35 on the multiple choice, and then 66/75 on the hazard. I was v. chuffed that day. Keep in their mate you will get it done

its not bad, the hazard is weird tho as you dont know what to expect

basic rule, click when you see something dubious i.e. a pedestrian on the pavement as you turn a bend - think rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish he could walk into the road *click*

also, say if someone pulls infront of you, basically all the time when something poetentially bad could happen

but dont click too much, id say 6 or 7 max, and 15 on the double hazard ( 1 and 2 mins respectivly) so a click every 10 or so seconds, at appripriate times and you should be ok

It is a bit poor that hazard perception...i got 34/35 and 66/75 the first couple of hazard perception things threw me as i didnt know what to expect..but you just have to kept clicking. and remember the definition of hazard (well as my instructor said..) a "hazard is something that makes you change speed or direction" so i thought ah, corner *click*.....straight *click* hehe
