Suggestions for cheap flights to DFW in Jan?

Hi all, this could potentially be a really useful thread to me, so i'd be very grateful for advice:

A very good friend (best man at my wedding) has invited me to his house in Dallas Fort Worth area (Texas, USA), but i can only go on Friday 15th until Tues 19th, plus or minus a day, (but taking only 3 days off work).
I'll be coming from London area.

THe best reasonable flight i can find so far is Heathrow to DFW with BA, is around £220 each way. I heard that sometimes BA do deals on their flights in the new year - is it worth waiting to book, or is there something else i should be thinking about?

The BA flight is direct, which i would far rather do than a change (i did it once before in chicago and lost some luggage).

That sounds pretty reasonable, seeing as return flights to NY are usually at least £250, and it's half of the distance again, and not such a high-volume route.

Usually prices tank in the new year. But it's a gamble, because last minute prices often climb...

I got a round trip from EUG to LHR and back for $540 in February this year, three weeks in advance.
