I saw this and thought I'd whip out my old 1st gen 8GB iPod Touch which died on me a few months ago and has since been sitting in my draw.

I proceeded to plug it in for good measure, even though it normally is completely unresponsive, and miraculously it turned on :O So thank you for fixing my iPod

iFixit are brilliant if you ever need to repair any Apple stuff. Saved a lot of time (and money for other people) using those guides!

My other half decided to fix his old iPhone, apparently a hammer is needed... he was adamant that it was a vital tool in fixing one.

(my thoughts exactly but I think mine are a bit more violent towars i-anythings)

Thanks for the site, I've been meaning to fix my ipod video for a while now. Does anyone know any good sites for ordering replacement parts in Britain? Or should I just order from these guys and wait?

www.applemacparts.com - been using them for years. They know their stuff and won't mess you around.

If what you're looking for isn't there, give them a call.

Wow. Those are actually more in depth than the AppleCare online training was! Impressive!
