    You can keep your snowmen...

    ...we built an igloo

Finished quite late last night, absolutely shattered. We slightly underestimated the task; I marked a fairly modest circle out with the shovel to start with and we agreed it was probably going to be quite small. How wrong we were - 2 layers up and 2 hours in, we started to realise it wasn't going to be a quick job!

Great fun though, and the best day at work ever

    Lots more pictures: http://niknak.org/gallery/pictures/m...6igloo-at-work

Amazing house and igloo! How long did it take you in total to build the igloo? Hope it doesn't melt anytime soon!

Re: You can keep your snowmen...

We spent about 6 hours in total doing that. The building is called Goldwell House in Newbury. It's Georgian and it sits atop a large hill, and used to survey a large area of land all the way down to the canal. If you've ever been through Goldwell Park in Newbury (where Northcroft is), that was all part of the estate

It's a lovely building to work in although a little drafty at this time of year!

Best of luck building a bigger one! It's hard work but if you get enough people involved and enough block molds, shouldn't be too difficult - not like we're going to run out of snow in a hurry!

    Awesome

Though a quick google and the gallery name would suggest you work, rather than live there

On the walk to work today I spotted a giant snow penis and balls, unfortunately the tip had snapped off.

There was one on a big round about coming off an A road near here, had us in stitches. Twigs for hairs & veins really gave it that professional touch.

"The snow is sprayed on huge steel forms and allowed to freeze. After a couple of days, the forms are removed, leaving a maze of free-standing corridors of snow."

    That's cheating!!!

Re: You can keep your snowmen...

Ideal ! I was planning to go out and build a snow man, but meh, it was too cold to do so, so in the end I stayed in. Gives me an idea for a water cooling mod though lol.
