Best time to Travel on Bank Holiday Monday?

I've either managed to avoid bank holiday travel or not had a choise of journey times, so I've not got much experience with this one....

I've got to escape London on Bank Holiday monday and I was wondering if there was a ever lull in traffic at any point in the day other than Supid-o-clock am? When does it really start to get busy?

Monday am shouldn't be too bad, but Monday PM will be murder.

If you are leaving London, you should be OK - if you are travelling back the same day, I'd leave it until very late.

Fortunately for me, I was escaping London. Plenty of traffic building up headed the other way by 11am.
