    Co Pilot 8 Ipod Touch

Anyone used the GPS software Co Pilot 8 on Ipod Touch?

There official website says its not supported yet iTunes says its compatible.

I need a sat nav for America and this is much a cheaper alternative to going out a buying a standard sat nav.

The mount kit plus the app are about £70 not to bad.

Anyone used the tomtom App, is this any better?

    Thanks

From what I've read, it's all rave reviews and it's said to be a lot better than TomTom. Considering it's only £27 for the UK and you don't need a subscription unless you want traffic stuff (afaik) it's a steal. They do US maps for a similar price.

Given that the mount + the app is about the same price as the TomTom app standalone, you've got a pretty sweet deal.

http://www.alk.eu.com/copilot/compatibility.asp their own compatibility list doesn't actually include the iPod Touch so be wary. Best bet would be to contact them directly.

The Touch doesn't have GPS in it does it?

So it would be buying a GPS add on as well...

No the touch doesn't have gps but the mount does from what I can gather.

I think the live services would be unavailable to me as I have nonetheless connection but I wouldn't really use them anyway.

Thanks for the replies, going to email alk now

Re: Co Pilot 8 Ipod Touch

After much digging around it seems that whilst the tomtom Ipod Touch Mount Kit is compatible with other Sat Nav apps, it is for the developer to support it.

Currently only TomTom do which means incurring a premium
