    Question Hair styling

Long story short .. I used to use gel and Fibre putty ( Loreal out of bed ) to have those nice spiky front hair. I started losing hair ... lot of hair washed away during showers .. and I quit!

After that I went the haircare oil route. Started using Vaseline hair care oil and it stopped the damage and aided in recovery.

Now, obviously with oil, I can't get those spikes back. What product can I use? One that is preferrably safe.

    Tnx

    Re: Hair styling

I have no idea about hair care. I wash it and dry it then carry on with my day. Can't remember when it was cut last, probably a few months. It's getting quite long. I don't even own a hair brush, I don't need one.

Thinking of going the Mousse route or the VO5 Matte clay or paste route?

I'm reliably informed by a friend that sells haircare that the Osmo Essence clay wax is suited to your needs.

    Re: Hair styling

Depends on how long your hair is and what type of hair you have. I have medium-ish hair and prefer to use VO5 Texturising Gum + Got2Be hairspray. It sounds like you have short hair though so you could probably just use VO5 texturising gum and it'll be enough, it also smells nice

    Re: Hair styling

I've definitely a fan of Clay, with matt being my preferred choice.

A little goes a long way and the result is a 'dry' style as opposed to wet look. Plus you can rework it throughout the day...

I tend to use a variety of products and move through them like a production line as my hair grows.

Starting with the VO5 Matt Clay then onto American Crew Matt Wax, then usually a cut or a standard wax.

    Re: Hair styling

Trying not to sound like too much of a ponce but here goes.

If you are washing your hair and it is fairly long (about 6" length) and some of it seems to be coming out in the shower it is fairly common according to my hairdresser.

Few things to consider would be to not use a hair dryer when drying your hair or at least use it on a cool setting. Damages the roots if it is too hot. If you have the time let it dry normally, i.e. towel dry it off in the shower then let nature take it's course after.

If you plan on using clay or matte paste then you can work this into your hair whilst it is still a bit damp so once it dries you can then just do what you want with it. I find it is easier to work with this way.

So yeah, just saying. No homo or anything.

Can't remember when I actually last washed my hair; probably last month when I went swimming.

I've got thick healthy looking hair so go natural!
