I know that we can't sell mobiles on Hexus, but can we get price checks on them?
BTW, the rules suggest that price checks should be in the HEXUS.Hardstuff forum, but no such forum exists? Does it mean HEXUS.hardware?
Best place to price check this sort of stuff is probably the CEX website.
CEX is for criminals and those with too much time on their hands. Never have i met a company full of such incompetent, trolls in all my life. This is in regards to buying, not selling though.
Just use eBay, it's a good estimator for the going rate - even if you don't intend to sell it there. Whenever I think about buying or selling on HeXus, I check the eBay prices to see what I should charge/be charged.
We are wary about mobile phones for a number of reasons. One is that they are fairly high value items that often have a 'dubious' history (ie being nicked!). They are also involved in inter country VAT fraud, and also contract phones are not the property of the user until the contract period is up, but there is no easy way to determine if the seller is the owner.
Now I'm not suggesting for a nanosecond that any HEXUS members would be engaged in anything remotely dodgy, but we have to be ultra cautious.
So given the stance on selling phones, I'd be reluctant to see price checks on here, especially as there are other sources of information.
I'll confirm this with the powers that be, but that is my take o it. (Incidentally, I'd be very wary about buying or selling a mobile 'phone on E-bay, for the reasons I've mentioned.

As the man says above - this is something we have to be very careful of
For that reason I'm going to have to say no - we run the risk of people using the PM system to try to buy and sell phones if people 'advertise' them with a price check. I know this isn't something you're intending Allen, but (as I keep saying!) we have to be very careful in this area.
If you want a price check, use one of the mobile phone recycling companies as a reference point as well. At least you know its not going to scammers on eBay.
Yeah, I'd bookmark this place: http://mobilevaluer.com/
