    Cool one of the best weekends ever

    Every weekend that i spend with my lovely other half is cool..... but this one is the best either of us have had for a while, cos we went to Dublin!!

    Wow what a city if any of u ever go visit the vitamin G storehouse, st stephens green park, ride the kooky tour - its a duck which takes u round the city showing you the medivial side of dublin and then into the Grand Canal Basin were u get showed the building U2 rehearse in, the penthouse suite Bryan from westlife owns and that colin Farrell owns two!!

    The bars are ace, proper Irish music and dancing going on - that was our first night after our pizza and then last night we went back to the same place hoping there would be more music like friday, but there wasnt so we had Irish stew for tea (cos lynni had been whinging all day, about wanting it for her tea... so went on a search for Irish stew ) and then we went back to Temple Bar.... toured some more bars and then left If you ever go, be warned the prices on drinks go up every half hour after 11pm untill 1am and since its already expensive be careful!! luckily we got warned beforehand, and brought several rounds before 11pm, to keep us going for afterwards

    Overall really cool weekend... cant wait to go back.

    The only moan would be Ryanair, they messed us about something terrible. We was booked on the first flight out, which was 7.30 and then was re-scheduled to 10.30am, we didnt actually leave untill 11 (45 mins in the air).... and then comein back we didnt get up in the air untill 1pm when we was meant to have left at 12.30 so if you ever go, dont fly with them! were thinking of going to belfast with easyjet and then getting the train down to dublin.... when we return next year, cant wait

    I went to dublin at the start of this year to play irish music with the rest of my folk group. It was very good and highly recommended. First night we played in a bar and the second night in the official tradition irish music centre . I really want to go back. Just have to organise it

    ooops sorry, didnt mean to spoil things just telling it how it was, even the tour guide on the Duck shook his head and smiled when we was moaning about our flight friday afternoon. They arent a very good company from what i saw this weekend

    Hmm, I 've never had any problems with Ryanair of any great concern, but they do take the cost-cutting thing a bit far really. Dublin's great and next time you should really try to have a look round the Guinness Storehouse museum, there is a great 360º bar at the top that lets you see the whole city.

    Did you see that big shiny spire thing?

    U = Amphibian

    K = All wheel drive

    W = for dual rear axles.

    Basically a 2.5 ton wagon with a boat welded on to it.. Marvellous piece of history The tour was quite good too

    I have to say also, that the rumours that Guinness loses it's flavour the further away from the brewery you go seem to be entirely true... i had a control pint in the Gravity bar after wandering around the storehouse... and then had a 'couple' more at varying points up the Liffey... the best pint I reckon was in the Arlington....bout 5-10 minutes away by car... Tastes horrid over here on the Island, which is why I've never been very fond of it. Deffo changed my mind now tho, now I've had a proper one

    Glad you enjoyed the weekend in Dublin Lynni, if you think it is an expensive city to visit then you should try living in it. I live in the place called Camden Lock which is right there where you would have turned off the main road before you actually went into the water on that tour in the amphibious vehicle, used to live in the apartments there where U2 have their rehearsal studio and that.
    The bar in the Guinness Store has to be one of the coolest there is and the Guinness there rules. Anyway glad you enjoyed it.
