    HDD Data Recovery...

    Hi folks...

Could someone recommend the best data recovery service please? It's for a friend living in Ireland but I'm sure they can ship it to the UK if needed.

    Thanks!

    Cheers, Mike.

Ontrack (Kroll) who used to be Vogon. Not cheap but they will do the task, there are many scammers out there. Who will take your disk then advance fee fraud you into paying more and more money to try to get your data back.

yup and quite a few of the scammers have really quite large advertising budgets, offices in the heart of London that are proper offices, not some bedsit.

abc data recovery (is a member here) may be worth a try. Not used him myself, so can't vouch for the company.

As others have said, there are some scammers out there - tread carefully.

We've used Ontrack several times at work and they're well worth it. They are a proper outfit, they disassemble your hard drive and place the platers into their "recovery drives" so even if there is physical damage they can get stuff back. Expect to pay somewhere in the region of £1000-£2000.
