Long Shot - need an internal bi-fold door

OK we've got a fridge in the kitchen that's just a tad too long and the kitchen door bangs against it so it only opens 50% of the way. Wife has been going on at me for ages to sort it out. Even more pressing as the baby is due at end of January (hence buggy questions etc....)

I thought best way to sort this out would be to get a chippy in to put up a bi-fold door. Well here's the problem the door size is 2040mm x 725mm (80.25" x 28.5"). I can finds a normal 1 piece door in this size but not a bi-fold one (apparently it's a European size door - Wimpy imported a load in about 15 years back for their houses).

Ideally a white one with 6 panels.

    Can anyone help?? pls??

Failing finding the right part, a decent carpenter can cut a standard wooden door in half and hinge it neatly.

Magnet have a pretty extensive trade brochure that has a fair selection of doors, at least they did last time I looked.

Re: Long Shot - need an internal bi-fold door

thanks for the replies guys. I had a chippy come in on the Sunday and he suggested to have the door open inwards rather than outwards so it opens into the lounge rather than into the kitchen.

It seemed like the easiest solution but he wanted £170 for the job. I'm getting another quote now.

Re: Long Shot - need an internal bi-fold door

£170 sounds a tad excessive (from someone with no knowledge of this at all). Replaceing the hinges & getting a decorater to patch it up afterwards would surely be a helluvalot cheaper then that!

Can't be too many people doing home improvements/extensions at this time of year!
