Steering wheel! - Prototype....pics inside

So, some may have come across this thread,

Anyway i decided that i would go ahead and build a stand for a wheel to go into! So...onto the pictures!









And of course i made it with a bolt system so it can be adjusted



So come on what do you think of my prototype?

PS: this wheels height can go to F1 style racing aswell as 2 different heights for a short and a tall person, To add to this the base can be removed to lower the foot pedals and the bit of wood that holds the wheel can also be adjusted. I'm (for once) really proud of this stand.

i must say i am pretty impressed, especially with the use of odd bits of wood

does it not wobble a little laterally as the steering wheel looks quite long with not much to support it!

Nope, the first time round it did with screws but once i added the bolts it became stable - Completely! The wheel itself used a clamp style system so its fine, and remember this is a prototype

To be fair chap's this was thrown together in a few hours, some other custom made stand's online and abit of my "modding" skills put into it made this prototype a fairly advanced stand compared to it's basic first design (which didnt move at all!)

It's already got a new wheel on the way for the final stand! looking forward to getting it done. If i was going to keep this i would give it a coat of matt black, but as im not that is for the final stand

Thanks I've yet to try it out on Trackmania, problem is the wheel with is sucks abait, not very good with the ps3 for instance, and abit of a bitch to setup with the pc, tried it out on Dirt and to be honest i was all over the place!

Change sensitivity settings maybe?

Tried that, i think it has something to do with the deadzone on the wheel, it sucks
