I've known for a while the golf was coming to my end of the world for a while now but have left it a little late in trying to sort out how to rent out my house for the golf. The golf open goes to Sandwich Kent every seven years, I wasn't around for the last one but apparently the town gets packed. I've never done this before so was wondering what pitfalls/problems people have had either trying this or being the guest. Any feedback and help welcome.
I'm not so keen on letting the whole property but I have a couple of double rooms which I am keen to try and rent out to make some money. I was thinking of trying a catered or uncatered package for the duration but I'm sure how to go about doing it. I'm quite happy cooking for other people and with all the great produce around its quite easy to put something nice together. We're quite close so parking and easy access in my opinion make it quite attractive.
Insurance and advertising are the biggest problems. Do insurance companies offer a weeks policy and where do I go about putting in an advert? I've contacted a couple of estate agents but they don't seem interested with eth tournament being only six months away. The Gumtree seems a little low key.
This is the same golf course where bonds plays goldfinger.
