Ricky Gervais - Funny Or Too Far ?

I'm not usually a Gervais fan but what I heard I thought was brilliant! Especially the Scientology crack.

Edit oh and the Robert Downey Jr quip too. Marvellous.

I only watched the opening salvo, and damn near ruptured myself laughing. I thought he was risqué, yes, near enough to the knuckle for a few people to need band-aids afterward, yes, but funny as hell - and I often don't find him that amusing.

I generally dont find him as funny as he used to be though suspect the "media" decided to get offended on our behalf

I can take or leave Ricky Gervais most of the time.

I do think he was hilarious at the Globes though And the organisers can't complain because he did pre warn them.

Anything that the Americans find funny is blatantly unfunny to people in Britain.

Ricky Gervias isn't even in the same realm as comics like Johnny Vegas.

Of course, it would be boring back-slapping crap, and that's probably why they changed approach.

Ricky Gervais presenting the golden globes is probably one of the funniest things i've ever seen on TV.
After last year they knew exactly what they were going to get, and i'm sure many of the jokes wern't taken as bad as the papers made out. Paul Mcartny was said to be furius last year according to the papers, but Ricky said they had a laught about it after the show. I'm sure it will be fairly similar this year too.
