    Contact lens

I'm vain got glasses and percription sunglasses but its just a pain to carry them both around, so I'm gonna try some contact lens.

I'd like to know which are better

    daily disposable
    monthy disposable
    continuse wear

    Cheers

It comes down to personal preference, and what suits your eyes best. I have tried all three and have always gone back to daily disposables.

Monthlies were too much hassle of having to take them out and clean them every day.
continuous wear ones just didn't agree with my eyes, could only wear them for one night, and i didn't like the feeling of waking up with lenses in. And they aren't just put them in at the beginning of the month and then replace em at the end of the month, you are supposed to take em out every couple of days/once a week to clean em, so u still dont get away from having to use solutions

And dailies suit me the best as i just put them in when i get up no hassle of solutions etc. Although the maufacturer/fit of the lens is also important as I have tried all the dailies available and the only ones I can wear are the J&J One day acuvue, which also happen to be the most expensive at around £36-£37 a month

I used continuous wear lenses for a couple of years, and they wern't all they were cracked up to be. I could wear a new lense for about a week, but as the lens got older it would become less and less comfortable, and by the third week of use (they are supposed to last a month) they sometimes didn't last the day before needing cleaning again.

If your vision qualifies, I have nothing but praise for LASIK eye surgery. It's very traumatic, but the results are a revelation!

I uses glasses atm, but used have used contact lenses earlier and will probably start again now during the summer. Daily contact lenses won't work for me, they don't make them with the right settings for my eyes. Same with continuse. So monthly is really the only fully working alternative for me, and I think it worked pretty well. I got used to the cleaning every day thing... Got to be a routine like brushing my teeth. And I must say contact lenses make you feel quite free really... I've had glasses most of my life, and even though I don't think of them when I have them on, I do notice when they aren't there
Light travels faster than sound. Is this why some people appear bright until you hear them speak?

I got the monthlies... as the previous reply said - you get so used to taking em out and cleaning em it doesn't bother you.. been using them for about 5 years now. I get daily disposables if I'm going anywhere like a LAN or camping, just to save the hassle of lugging bottles of solution with me, but for everyday use, the monthlies are great. The only thing with contacts tho.. if you suffer from hayfever like I do, they do tend to dry out VERY quickly.. I had to stop wearing mine for about 6 months after I got a bit of pollen in me eye last summer - my eye just couldn't take it. Other than that I aint had a problem. They are weird to get used to but you soon sort it out, and you should get a trial run to see how you like em anyway.

as well as being damaging to the eyes, reactions are crap. they turn dark really quickly outside (regardless of whether it's raining in the middle of winter or not), but take ages to go normal when you go back inside.

i've also had all three - the dailies were too expensive, and only seemed to last around 8hrs before they got sore. The monthly's were better at around 14hrs, but still up for work at 7, and they're sore by the time you're out at night. So I've been using the continuous ones - they're not great, yes you can wear them all the time, but they do get sore near the end of the month.

so i'm saving up for lasik now
