need to ship £650 of tools back

I rented some rather expensive specialist tools to swap the rear wheel bearings on my BMW and now i need to ship them back, trouble is there worth £650 and i don't want to be left out of pocket, i also dont want to be spending £40 to ship them back.

any ideas ? weight about 15kg, 60x40x30cm box.

I've used http://www.parcel2go.com/ before and it was pretty good, you can definitely get your tools shipped for a lot less than £40.

Don't forget there's a goos chance of being charged import tax. May be cheaper to fly out and bring them back as luggage

Ship them back to where? If your talking about EU then your shuld be able to ship them with insurance for below £40 (but I doubt you wil save a lot) outside EU you will be lucky (with insurance and duty for the receiver).


You shouldnt have to pay duty or VAT within the EU. Large amounts of international insurance tend to cost a bit due to UK couriers finding it difficult to track abroad.

i rented from a guy near the M25

as soon as i put 650 value it quoted me an additional £30 on P2G so i dropped that idea.

How much would it cost to drive them down there? Anything less than that is a bonus, anything more, take them yourself.

40 quid for shipping and insurance on that isn't bad to be fair. Any savings you make I wouldn't expect to be huge.

well after the underwhelming responce it would seem http://www.smartcourier.co.uk offer the best value using city link ( i drop off there every day for work) as they offer insurance for a 1/3rd of the price as parcels2go. it would cost £25 all in.
