Thanks, is an interesting (and rather beautiful) technique they have showed there. Would be cool if they manage to turn cells into lasers and analyse the spectrum produced as indicated in the first article.

I'd be interested to know what the efficiency is like, lasers are notoriously bad for their power consumption vs output power due to the need to sustain the population inversion in the material, etc.
