Didn't see this posted at all, abit shocking tbh and very unfair imo.


A charity worker who crawled the London Marathon dressed as Brian the Snail from The Magic Roundabout has been sacked for not raising enough money.

Action for Kids fundraiser Lloyd Scott hoped to raise at least £100,000 for the charity but received about £20,000.

Wow that's screwed up, especially for a bloke who's raised £5m in donations. You'd think they'd give him some leeway given his record and the state of the economy.

It's hardly surprising he was sacked, given the prestige of the position, and the likely salary attached it's not exactly a position where you can underperform and expect to coast along on past achievements

But was it effecient use of his time as the most senior, and best paid fundraiser? In the time he was doing this, were there projects that could have benefited from his oversight? Put it another way, would you pay someone £100,000 a year to spend their time crawling in a snail suit? Or would you expect them to be working 10-12 hour days overseeing several different projects, all of which could make just as much money, if not more for the charity?

They conveniently missed that part out of the article (assuming Lucio is correct). I saw this guy on his way as the marathon route went right by where I work. He obviously put a lot of effort into this, and I'm sure that would be applauded if he wasn't on the payroll of the charity, and using their money to promote it, pulling in a loss over all.
