Jay - That's a good and sad epitaph.
Thanks.
RIP Peter.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
RIP Peter.
Rest In Peace
Sad to hear. The more I think, the more quotes & classic Columbo episode snippets I think of that have embedded themselves & get used by me (& family) here & there.
Such as "what the hell am I going to do - what the hell am I going to do - and that word". (From Agenda for Murder, with Patrick McGoohan). And "call that a lining?!" from same episode.
RIP Peter. Thanks a lot.

Sad news, He really made the character of Columbo his own, I can't imagine anyone else doing it as good as he did.
I read somewhere that he chose that car himself as he thought it was the kind of car the character would drive.
Very sad news this. Such a shame that he went out not even remembering the great parts he'd played. Dementia and alzheimers are a terrible thing for anyone to suffer.
RIP
You can just imagine him walking through the pearly gates and then coming back to Peter and saying "One more thing..."
In my mind he is one of the few actors that could work with so many stars in a long running show and never once be overshadowed. Though personally his performance in "The Princess Bride" is one of my favourites as you got to glimse the true warmth and humility of a truly great man.
He will be sadly missed.
If Wisdom is the coordination of "knowledge and experience" and its deliberate use to improve well being then how come "Ignorance is bliss"
I feel the urge to watch a few episodes of Columbo now. He really made the character his own!
oh and just one more thing..
