    Sorry, 29 then! But do you regularly bang your head on them when you're making love to your girlfriend?

    On the brighter side, you still launch more times a year than nasa.

    Well done Jay you seem to have rescued peter's love life. When the cotton broke and peter's shuttle went down, his wife never did appreciate "Houston, we have a problem" as an excuse.

    That's about as much innuendo as I can squeeze into 2 sentences btw .

    A sign of the (economic) times. Don't worry, Hollywood will continue our epic journey into space. At least in the fantasy we can meet aliens and not just boldly go and come back with nothing more than a few rocks.

    Btw, has Hadron done any colliding lately? I think the thing they're looking for is riding in the current Tour de France - Boassen-Hagan or something ?

    Isn't that ice cream?

    Having finished with the (bad) puns....

    Yes, it is a sad day, although I hope the shuttle will be a stepping stone to something truly re-usable. (While the shuttle vehicle was reusable, the launch mechanism certainly wasn't).

    I hope space exploration will evolve, because I am convinced that the long term survival of the human race will depend on it.

    Having said that, there are still large areas of the earth that we know little about - both the flora and fauna of The Amazon rain forest, and remote areas like that, and the deep oceans. All equally important.

    Ok, here's my idea: Get two big metal plates and bolt them together. Build a cockpit on one of them and instal an excellent pilot; let's say, just as an example, TheAnimus. He can take his mum as a co-pilot to cook food on the long space journey ahead. Using electric stuff make the plates of opposing magnetic force, get TheAnimus's mum to remove her false teeth as a safety measure, and then undo the bolts.

    Throw a party .

    Hmmm...

    Some advice:

    Don't give up the day job

    Don't take that to "Dragons' Den"

    Oh yes,

    Don't be nasty about Theanimus (or his Mum)

    (Party is OK though)

    Iirc the shuttle did a flyby of the planet at some point and mapped out a lot of the planet surface in detail way beyond what had been done before, seems there's a lot of stuff it does and has been responsible for that people don't know about...

    Ok, but I'm just being entrepreneurial, like Tom off The Apprentice. Wayward genius has netted him a quarter of a million;

    Ok, I won't. That new Dragon is too scary anyway;

    TheAnimus and I are friends. We both feel safe with a little bit of well meaning humour;

    Who'll order the stripper, me or you? (ps it is noted that you agree to a party celebrating the departure of The Animus forever)
