    Exclamation URGENT: Best of British!

    Okay. Here's the job:

I have two friends leaving Tucson tomorrow to head for sunny old England, for three weeks.

I haven't set foot the sceptred isle in three years, and miss many things.

They've offered to bring me back something(s) - whatever I might request. The question is, what to get them to bring? I need to tell them today.

I need some best of British people, what would be your recommendations?

Can you buy Marmite in Arizona? If not then ask them to bring some!
For joy, apparently, it was all Franny could do to hold the phone, even with both hands.

Can't stand Marmite and HP Brown isn't exactly my favourite. Already have Wispas on the way and some cadbury's along with Garibaldis, Hobnobs, and McVities Milk/Dark Choc Digestives.

    Real beer

    What about Walkers crisps?

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

    Can't stand beer - :O I know...

I'm thinking of something other than food and snacks, since for all the effort they'll be gone so quickly.

How about music/clothing/something symbolic/something I can impress or educate my US friends with?

Things like tea etc. they've got covered. I'm trying to think of something other than food stuffs.

I was thinking maybe patches, or something. Not sure where'd I grab those.

Well there should be loads of things like that about when they get here because Euro 2004 starts in a couple of weeks (I think - I dont do the whole football thing) - so long as it is UK memorabilia you want then you should be sorted!

Ahh things have really changed galant.

A trip to the Covent bazaar is a must if visiting Londonistan. Should be able to pick up a nice burkha for the missus. Or a bit further east of the city centre in Docklandgrad for authentic east European crafts. Perhaps a second hand (one careful owner) former Yugoslav army issue AK47.

Sadly one of the city's hallmarks, the street outside Finsbury park mosque, can't be viewed in it's full splendour due to the unforseen absence of the chief cleric. Away on other business pending a visit to the USA. Your friends picked an unfortunate time to visit. Though I'm reliably informed his stand-in is every bit as entertaining.

However, one thing will never change. Tell them not to forget their raincoats. It is summer after all

Nice to see you left the politics behind, and really got into the spirit of the thread.
